Our Agency History

GRBM Insurance is a second generation, family owned and operated independent insurance agency located in Brewster, NY, 75 miles north of New York City.

Established in 1986, GRBM has a wide customer base. We service clients from New York City, Long Island, Westchester County and up the Hudson Valley. Additionally, we service many clients from Litchfield, Fairfield and New Haven County. We are licensed to sell insurance in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Our knowledgeable staff has over 70 years combined experience in the insurance field. Our agency Founder, Gary J McCarthy, holds a CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation. The Society of CIC’s holds their members to the highest standards of professionalism to give you the assurance that you will receive the best insurance advice. Our customer service staff will offer you the courtesy and respect you deserve as a valued client.

Gary McCarthy, Sr.

Founder

Gary Sr. founded GRBM after working in the insurance industry for a number of years. With over 30 years of experience Gary is the senior leader and adviser on all matters of the agency. Gary works tirelessly for his clients and built GRBM from nothing to the thriving agency we are today.

Gary joined the agency back in 2011 and began learning the ins and outs from his father. He has focused on commercial insurance but enjoys a wide variety of insurance types. We like to take the mystery out of insurance and educate our clients and potential clients of their coverage options.
